Apyesse can now function as an MCP server: what does this mean, specifically?

In recent months, there’s been increasing talk of system integration and “operational” artificial intelligence. With Apyesse, we’ve taken a step further: the platform can now also function as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server.

But what does this really mean, even for those unfamiliar with MCP?

In simple terms:

  • MCP is a standard that allows AI models to connect in a structured way to external systems.
  • An MCP server exposes data and functionality so that an AI assistant can query, use, and reason about it.

With Apyesse as your MCP server:

  • AI is no longer limited to “talking” about planning,
  • but can directly access production data, capacity, orders and constraints,
  • and transform them into operational responses, simulations and decision support.

In practice, this means moving from:

“AI explains how planning works”

to:

“AI works within planning.”

This is an important step towards a truly conversational, integrated, and action-oriented APS, where artificial intelligence becomes a true copilot for planners, production managers, and supply chain managers.
